Obituary
Dorothy J. Booher, age 84, of Quincy, died Sunday, March 12, 2023, at 10:37 pm in Liberty Village of Pittsfield.
Dorothy was born December 4, 1938 in Pittsfield, Illinois, the daughter of George and Mildred Thomas Lightle. She married Robert Otto Booher on September 19, 1959 in Vermont Street United Methodist Church. He preceded her in death on December 6, 2012.
Dorothy was a graduate of Pittsfield High School class of 1956, and went on to attain her nursing degree from St. Mary School of Nursing class of 1959. She was a registered nurse for over 40 years, working at both St. Mary and Blessing Hospitals in Quincy. She was a former member at Vermont Street United Methodist Church in Quincy. In her spare time, Dorothy enjoyed reading and knitting. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include: two sons, Eric (Shawna) Booher of Quincy, and Jeffrey Booher both of Quincy; six grandchildren, Travis Booher, Cory Booher, Lucas Booher, Joshua (Austin Andries) Booher, Alex (Madison) Booher, and Jennifer Booher; two step grandchildren, Taylor and Talan Webster; a great grandddaughter, Emory Booher, and one on the way; and two brothers, Mike and Earl Lightle.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Otto Booher; a son, David Booher; her parents, George and Mildred Lightle, and sister Jane Lightle.
Visitation: 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm, Saturday March 18, 2023 at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home.
Services: 3:00 pm Saturday, March 18, 2023 at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home, with Rev. Judith Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in Quincy Memorial Park.
