Obituary

Jesse Wells, age 40, of Quincy, died the evening of Saturday, August 27, 2022, in his home.

Jesse was born February 27, 1982 in Quincy, Illinois, the son of James and Cynthia A. Johnson Wells.

Jesse was a 2000 graduate of Quincy High School. After high school he worked in construction and at the Days Inn. Jesse worked as a welder at Knapheide in Quincy for 10 years. He later worked in construction and did handyman work about the Quincy area. In his spare time, Jesse enjoyed spending time outdoors, bonfires, fishing, camping, and having a good time with family and friends. He was always ready to help a friend in need and was widely regarded as the inventor of "Fish Tank Fishing".

Survivors include: the love of his life, Shelby Boyer of Quincy; four children, Christopher, Karter, Payton, and Mackenzie; his father, James Wells of Quincy; a brother, Anthony J. Wells of Quincy; his grandmother, Nancy Wells of Quincy; a special niece, Brianna Wells also of Quincy; and his chihuahua, Peaches.

Jesse was preceded in death by: his mother, Cynthia A. Wells; and grandparents, James O. Wells, and Betty and Ben Johnson.

There will be no services. Private inurnment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
