Obituary
Daisy L. Palmer, age 80, formerly of Quincy, died on Sunday, August 21, 2022 at 4:55 am in Blessing Hospital.
Daisy was born March 8, 1942 in Canton, Missouri, the daughter of Asbury B. and Manila M. Moore Chamberlain. She married Jon B. Palmer on November 4, 1978 in the Methodist Church of Canton, MO. He preceded her in death on October 16, 2021.
Daisy was a 1960 graduate of Canton High School, Canton, MO. She worked in the bookkeeping department of Mercantile Bank for 48 years, from 1964 to December of 2012, and also had worked for four years at Springfield Marine Bank. She was a member of Canton Methodist Church, Canton, MO and also attended Central Baptist Church of Quincy.
Survivors include a sister, Thelma Morrison of Quincy; three nieces, Michelle (Branden) Pirotte of Quincy, Marilyn (John) Carter of Troy, MO, and Kendelle R. Palmer of Quincy; four nephews, Delmar (Judy) Morrison, and Ronald (Sharon) Morrison, both of Oklahoma, Roy (Tina) Hetzler and Roger (Debra) Hetzler, both of Canton, MO; and numerous great-nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Jon, Daisy was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Leonard Chamberlain, infant sister, Lucille Chamberlain, infant brother, Donald Asbury Chamberlain, a sister Dorita Hetzler, three nephews, Zachariah Palmer, and Randall L. Morrison, and Terry Morrison, a great-niece, Lindsey Lohmeyer, and nine precious dogs, Dank, Dandy, Cookie, Cody, Caley, Candy, Sofie, Sadie and Samie.
Visitation: 10:30 to 11:00 am on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home.
Services: 11:00 am on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home, with Rev. Jason Sommerfeldt officiating.
Burial: Greenmount Cemetery, Quincy, Illinois
Memorials: Quincy Humane Society, Canton Methodist Church or Central Baptist Church.
