Dale Edwin Hatfield, age 73, of Quincy, died Wednesday, November 10, 2021, at 4:30 am in his home.

Dale was born July 16, 1948 in Edina, Missouri, the son of Hollie E. and Eva Lavon Barnes Hatfield. He married Karen Sue "Susie" Silman on December 14, 1974 in Ewing Baptist Church, and from this union, Bruce and Kim were born. He was formerly married to Carolyn Tyler on October of 1965 in Lewistown, Missouri, and from this union, Randall, Tina, and David were born.

He joined the United States Army in 1968 and was stationed at the Panama Canal until he was stationed in Vietnam. He served his country until his honorable discharge in 1970. Dale worked as an over the road truck driver from 1970 until his retirement with McNay Trucking in 2013. He was able to log over 4 million miles on the open road.

Dale loved racing, especially at the Quincy Raceways. He even received multiple awards during his time there from 1988 until 1998. After his time there, Sunday's were for watching races at the raceway. He also loved Nascar, and loved watching Matt Kenseth, Kyle Busch, and Kenny Schrader. Even though he loved racing, Dale still loved collecting Kabota Tractors and riding lawn mowers. Dale was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.

Dale was a clever and funny person to be around and never knew a single stranger. He loved spending time with his family, especially his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
