Shirley A. Williams, age 86, of Quincy, died on Friday, October 1, 2021 at 3:40 pm in Willow Care Center in Hannibal, Missouri.
Shirley was born December 6, 1934 in Quincy, Illinois, the daughter of Charles and Anna Holtschlag Richmiller and the youngest of their seventeen children.
Shirley graduated Quincy Sr. High School, Quincy College and earned her Master's Degree at Northeast Missouri State University.
Shirley worked as a teacher for the Quincy Junior High School. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Parish and was one of the first female members of the Elk's Club of Quincy.
Survivors include three children, Ann Sloniger of Montana, Laura Buss of Quincy, and Spencer Williams (Dawn) of St. Charles, MO; Alexander Williams, her grandchild, her special friend Chuck Trowbridge and her sisters Ruth Welchert and Sylvia Holzgrafe.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, her son in law, Darrell Buss, ten brothers, Carl, Robert "Bobby", Milton, LeRoy "Riffie", Harold, Howard "Tiny", Melvin "Dev", Charles "Junie", Roger and John "Jackie" Richmiller, and four sisters, Rose Richmiller, Lydia Tenk, Carlene Beers, and Virlee Tyson.
Services: 10:00 am on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home, with Fr. Tom Meyer officiating.
Burial: St. Boniface Cemetery, Quincy, Illinois
Visitation: 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Friday, October 8, 2021 at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home
