Carrie Elizabeth Lawrence
May 22, 1966 - September 06, 2021
Carrie Lawrence, age 55, of Quincy, died Monday, September 6, 2021, in her home.
Carrie was born May 22, 1966 in Lawrence, Kansas, the daughter of Robert and Carolyn Holmes Anderson. She married Richard "Rick" James Lawrence on March 21, 1998. He preceded her in death on September 8, 2020. She was previously married to Ben Kenison. This union produced two daughters, Heather and Kasey Kenison.
Carrie was a die hard St. Louis Blues and Cardinals fan. She and her husband Rick had a friendly rivalry as he was a Chicago Cubs fan. The fact Rick was a St. Louis Blues fan may have just saved the marriage! Carrie was overjoyed when the Blues won the Stanley Cup. Many years ago she worked in a nursery where she developed a love of plants and gardening. She later worked as a secretary at St. Louis Community College. She worked for many years as a secretary at Lincoln County Medical Center in Troy, MO. In her spare time she enjoyed watching sports, especially the Blues and Cardinals, watching and reading the news, and gambling.
Survivors include: four children, Heather Kenison of Quincy, Kasey (Brandon) Kenison of Montrose, IA, Caleb Lawrence of St. Peters, MO, and Mallory Lawrence of St. Peters, MO; eight grandchildren, Skylar Hubbard, Troy Lawrence, Ava Lawrence, Nala Jayne, McKenzie Matuszak, Serenity Jayne, Rowan Lawrence, and Kylee Kenison; her father, Robert M. Anderson of Wentzville, MO; four brothers, Robert C. (Teresa) Anderson of Pennsylvania, Michael Schindler of St. Anne, MO, David Schindler of Foley, MO, and Todd (Jennifer) Schindler of Hawaii; her step father Dennis Schindler of St. Louis, MO; and her two very special dogs, Damien and Hazel.
Carrie was preceded in death by: her husband, Richard "Rick" James Lawrence, her mother, Carolyn Schindler, her stepmother Carla Anderson, her grandmother Lola Sarri, her sister-in-law Shannon Schindler, her favorite dog Bandit, and her favorite cat, Tony.
