James J. "Jimmy" Porter, age 52, of Payson, lost his short battle with cancer on Sunday, January 17, 2021, at 4:12 pm in his home.
Jimmy was born January 3, 1969 in Springfield, IL, a son of Nancy Merrifield Porter. He married Colene Huner on March 17, 2005 in Quincy. She survives.
Jimmy was employed in the General Mills warehouse for many years. Jimmy enjoyed the outdoors, especially if he was fishing or hunting for mushrooms. Most of all he loved spending time with his family; especially his grandchildren.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his father and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
