Obituary
Jimmy was born January 3, 1969 in Springfield, IL, a son of Nancy Merrifield Porter. He married Colene Huner on March 17, 2005 in Quincy. She survives.
Jimmy was employed in the General Mills warehouse for many years. Jimmy enjoyed the outdoors, especially if he was fishing or hunting for mushrooms. He was also an avid NASCAR fan, and in his younger days, he liked working on cars. Jimmy was mechanically inclined, and his family will always remember him as the guy who could fix anything. Most of all he loved spending time with his family; especially his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, survivors include two children; Ashley Porter of Quincy, and James "Jim" (Taylor Nell) Porter of Hannibal, MO; three grandchildren, Rilee, Bentlee, and Kynlee Porter; mother, Nancy (Richard) Baze of Quincy, IL; three siblings: Kelli Plunk, Staci Stockton, and Mike Stockton, of all of Quincy; three step siblings: Richard Allen (Mandy) Baze of Stillwell, IL; Derek Baze of Plainville, IL; and Shelly Baze of Quincy; and numerous nieces and nephews, including Drew Stockton, Scott Sass, Aris Tedrow, and Kari (Danny) Nicholson.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his father and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
Jimmy was cremated as per his wishes. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
