Barbara E. Huckstep, age 71, of 639 York, died April 22, 2011, at 11:40 AM in Sycamore Health Care Center.

Barbara was born October 7, 1939 in Quincy, IL, the daughter of Charles Elmer and Ruby Esther Garrett Huckstep.

She was a 1958 graduate of Quincy High School. She attended Gem City College, worked at St. Mary Hospital for 20 years and at Brighton Pavilion as Director of Activities for 10 years.

Survivors include: a sister-in-law, Mary Huckstep; a cousin, Charlene (Bob) Morris and their family, several nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, 2 great great nephews; two cats, Smokey and Lexie, a life long friend, Judy Schneider, and friends from the Senior Center Apartments and those she met throughout her life.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Gary and Don Huckstep, and a sister-in-law, Donna Huckstep.

Graveside Service: Wednesday at 11:00 am

Burial: Graceland Cemetery on Maine Street
