About Us

Serving Families Since 1929

Hansen-Spear Funeral Home was built in 1929 as the first full service funeral home in Quincy, Illinois. It included the area’s only funeral chapel with fixed pews and adjoining family room. In addition there are two separate visitation parlors to accommodate up to three visitations at a time. It is handicapped accessible.

Hansen-Spear Funeral Home has handicapped parking and a covered carport for inclement weather use. The downstairs lounge is open for visitation so that families may rest and have refreshments. There are also children’s books and some toys for children to play with.

Hansen-Spear has the largest display room within a 100 mile radius. This allows families a wide variety of caskets, urns, vaults and green products in all price ranges. We feature over 40 caskets in our display rooms as well as a dedicated Cremation Room that features cremation caskets, rental caskets, and a wide variety of urns. The burial vault display showcases miniature versions of the Clark Steel and Wilbert Concrete Vaults available. Finally, in 2015, we expanded our selection to include a variety of Green burial and cremation products for families that are environmentally conscious to choose from.
