Peter Yacko

Peter Andrew Yacko , age 66, of O’Fallon, Illinois, formerly of Quincy, died Tuesday, November 27, 2012, at 10:15 pm in his home.

Peter was born September 18, 1946 in Bayonne, New Jersey, the son of Andrew and Matilda Julia Madasz Yacko He married Jo Anne Rutherford on August 23, 1970 in Queens, New York. She preceded him in death on April 20, 2008.

Peter worked for over 25 years as an accountant at J.M. Huber Corp. in Quincy. He retired in 2001. Peter was an avid coin and stamp collector and enjoyed solving crossword puzzles.

Survivors include: a daughter, Gina Roush of Waterloo, IL; a son, Brian (Erin) Yacko of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; two grandchildren, Natalie and Logan Roush of Waterloo, IL; and a third grandchild is due any day to Brian and Erin.

In addition to his wife, Peter was preceded in death by his parents.

Services: 2:00 pm Monday, December 3, 2012 at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home, with Monsignor Michael Kuse officiating.

Burial: Calvary Cemetery, Quincy, Illinois

Visitation: 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm, Monday December 3, 2012 at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home.

Memorials: A cancer charity of the donor’s choice, in lieu of flowers, would be greatly appreciated

    To hear of your Fathers passing was another sad moment in our famlies lives.
    We had not seen your for many years but, I remember as kind young man & I’m sure he grew into a wonderful man. We are deeply saddened by his passing but I’m sure the legacy of love he left behind will always keep him in your hearts.
