Vivian Kirlin

Vivian Rose Kirlin, age 89, of Quincy, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, December 5, 2018, at 5:25 am in Blessing Hospital.

Vivian Kirlin | Hansen-Spear Funeral Home - Quincy, ILVivian was born January 11, 1929 in Hannibal, MO, the daughter of William and Rosa Lee Houchins Allen. She married Elmer J. Kirlin on April 20, 1957 in Quincy. He preceded her in death on August 15, 2008.

Vivian was orphaned at a young age, and she spent her childhood growing up in a children’s home. At the age of 11, she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. Ever since then, God has been her source of strength in every area of her life.

After she and Elmer were wed, she quit work in order to raise their two daughters, whom she loved with all of her heart and soul. Vivian loved children, and she loved working with them. She had been a Sunday school teacher at both Columbus Road Baptist Church and Tabernacle Baptist Church for over 50 years. Vivian’s family will always remember for her ornery spirit and for her love for her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include: two daughters, Dorita Kirlin of Quincy and Anita (Jeff) Leroux of Milwaukee, WI; seven grandchildren: Julia (Clayton) Rabe of Camanche, IA; Jeffrey (Liz) Leroux of Greendale, WI; Samuel (Emily) Leroux of Greenfield, WI; Deborah Joy Leroux of West Allis, WI; and Daniel, Sarah, and Joseph Leroux, all of Milwaukee; four great-grandchildren, Wyatt and Reagan Rabe, and Genesee and Samuel Jr. Leroux; and several nieces and nephews.

Girls, i am so sorry to hear of Mom’s passing but we know she’s enjoying heaven and being in the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. i remember how much fun she and I had playing our musical instruments and singing with the group of young people at various places.
