Anthony Leo ‘Tony’ Sohn, age 64, of Quincy, died Monday, November 26, 2018, at Blessing Hospital.

Tony Sohn | Hansen-Spear Funeral Home - Quincy, ILTony was born February 22, 1954 in Quincy, Illinois, the son of Emil, Sr. and Mary Matticks Sohn. He married Connie Bridgeman on July 31, 1987 in Quincy. She survives.

Tony was a 1974 graduate of Quincy High School. Tony was the original founder of Sohn Flooring Installation, which he operated for 47 years. To say that Tony was extremely well-known in Quincy, is an understatement. Everyone knew Tony, and everyone knew him as the original carpet installer.

In his spare time, Tony enjoyed hunting for deals at auctions, no matter where he was. Tony was also heavily involved in go kart and stock car racing in the Tri-State area. In addition to racing, Tony also officiated and announced at races throughout the area. Tony also took great joy in being a deer hunter. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and friends.

Tony was of the Catholic Faith.

In addition to his wife, Connie, Tony is survived by five sons: Josh Sohn of Albia, IA; Zach (Aleyesa) Sohn of Albia, IA; A.J. (Kara) Sohn of San Angelo, TX; Jake (Lana) Sohn of Albia, IA; and Shawn Sohn of Quincy; a g daughter, Skylor Sohn, of Quincy; seven grandchildren: Carson, Maddyn, Dawsyn, Brody, Adelyn, Truett, and Tatum; four brothers: Joe (Judy) Sohn, Ed (Barb) Sohn, Roger Sohn, and Steve (Donna) Sohn all of Quincy; six sisters: Doris (Marty) Karhoff, Marylou (Dave) Elsie both of Quincy; Kate (Kevin) Specht of Fort Worth, TX; Jane (Robert) Brown, Marge (Steve) Hilgenbrinck; and Alice Waelder all of Quincy; and many, many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Tony was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Tom Sohn.

Services: 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 1, 2018 at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home, with Father James Wheeler O.F.M. officiating.

Burial: Calvary Cemetery, Quincy, Illinois

Visitation: 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm, Friday November 30, 2018 at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home
