SaBrina E. Steward, age 25, of Quincy, died Thursday, January 17, 2019, at 6:10 pm in Blessing Hospital.

SaBrina Steward | Hansen-Spear Funeral Home - Quincy, ILSaBrina was born October 21, 1993 in Honolulu, Hawaii, the daughter of Donald and Tonya Shirley Steward.

SaBrina’s greatest dream was to walk across the stage at her high school graduation without the aid of a wheel chair. She would realize that dream in 2012 when she graduated from Quincy High School. SaBrina had also attended John Wood Community College after graduation. SaBrina volunteered at Blessing Hospital, and she loved her work there. SaBrina also spent many hours at the Quincy Public Library, where she would read and listen to audio books. She also enjoyed riding four wheelers and golf carts out on the farm.

Survivors include: parents, Tonya and Jim Pratt of Quincy, IL; father, Donald Steward of FL; four siblings: Ashlynn Steward of Quincy, IL; Kaleb Steward of Palmyra, MO; Kathryn (Keith) Brown of Camp Point, IL; and Corbin Pratt of Camp Point, IL; two grandmothers: Judy Huff and Carol Phillips, both of Quincy; her grandparents, James and Alberta Pratt; two great grandmothers: Carlene Dralle of Camp Point, IL; and Mary Lou Shritley of Fayetteville, NC; her Godfather, Jerry McPherson; Godmother, Terri Burdon; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

SaBrina was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Terry Bailey, William Huff, Hugh Shirley, and Donald Steward; her great-grandparents, Donald and Betty Steward; Wilma and Earl Bryant; and Glen and Hazel Bailey; her great-grandfathers, Gene Shirley, and Wayne Dralle; her aunt, Josephine Schroder; and three uncles: Gary, Joe, and Kit Bryant.

Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home.

Visitation: One hour prior to service at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home

  1. To the Family of Sabrina: I haven’t known this beautiful Spirit very long, but I do know she was so loving, kind, sweet, and a loveable young lady! I Volunteer at Blessing where she did. She always had that pretty smile where ever she went. I was doing my Daily devotions and she ask me what I was doing. I explained what it was and she said, cool! I did a Devotion with her. I will miss you my beautiful SPIRIT! Heaven Truly gained a Pretty Rose. God Bless you Sabrina.

  2. RIP dear SaBrina. Your smile always lit up the classroom at Baldwin. One of my favorite days ever was spending the day on the 5th grade trip in St. Louis at the zoo with you and your grandma. It is a day that my daughter Kelsey and I will never forget. It was a day filled with fun and smiles. No more struggles or pain for you. Soar with the angels! 🙏🏻

  3. This just seems unreal to me still….I just messaged her the other day checking on her after her recent hospital stay..I teased her I was going to throw snowballs at her to get her walking again. She was and is a bright and shining star in my heart. This teacher has your picture on her wall and your smile in her memory forever…you are loved brat….always….Ms. Boker
