Roxanne M. ‘Roxie’ Phillips, age 77, of Quincy, died peacefully in her home surrounded by family on Wednesday, October 31, 2018.

Roxie Phillips | Hansen-Spear Funeral Home - Quincy, IllinoisRoxie was born September 26, 1941 in Quincy, Illinois, the daughter of Thomas L. and Valetta L. ‘Pat’ Garner Logan. She married Larry L. Phillips on March 7, 1959 in Quincy, Illinois. He survives.

Roxie was a 1959 graduate of Quincy High School and a 1978 graduate of the Quincy Beauty Academy. She had been employed by Motorola and Quincy Soybean (ADM).

Roxie dearly loved her family and cherished the moments spent with them. She enjoyed traveling the United States with her children, nieces and nephews, and other family and friends. After retiring in 1998, Roxie traveled the world with her loving husband of 59 years. She was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors in addition to her husband, Larry, include two children, Kevin R. (Brenda) Phillips of Quincy, and Leanne D. Cheney of Loraine, IL; two granddaughters, Rebekah (Clay) Howard of North Liberty, IA, and Anna Sheets of Quincy; seven great-grandchildren, Mabel, Eleanor, Amelia and Callahan Howard, Jayde Phillips-Mecklenburg, and Kathryn and Leelynd Sheets; three brothers, Lavon ‘Sonny’ (Kathy) Logan, Terry Logan and Timothy ‘Tim’ Logan, and several nieces and nephews,

Roxanne was preceded in death by her parents, her granddaughter, Nicole D. Phillips Ruffcorn, two sisters, Vickie Logan and Lynnda ‘Susie’ Chapman, a son-in-law, Craig Cheney.

Private services were held at Greenmount Cemetery at Roxie’s request.

Memorials may be made to ‘The District’ for Blues in the District, the American Brain Tumor Association for Glioblastoma research, or Unity Point Moments that Matter

  6. So saddened to hear this news. We’ll miss her gorgeous smile. I loved her posts each day on Facebook, they always were cheerful and made my day a little bit better. Jim loved getting her many wonderful emails. Was so glad that we got to see Roxie & Larry in June this year. Our thoughts and prayers are with Larry and all the family.
