Richard Davis Jr., age 56, of Kansas City, KS, died Friday, November 9, 2018, at 12:20 pm in his home.

Richard Davis | Hansen-Spear Funeral Home - Quincy, ILRichard was born April 21, 1962 in Quincy, a son of Richard E., Sr. and Dolores Riley Davis.

Richard was a 1981 graduate of Quincy High School. He had worked for Niemann Foods until he moved to Kansas City, KS, where he was employed as a custodian for the Kansas City Public School system. Richard was a cat lover who always took care of all of the strays in his neighborhood. In his spare time he enjoyed collecting antiques.

Survivors include his sister, Debi (David) Walkenshaw of Adrian, MO; nieces and nephews: Melonie Pritchett of Peculiar, MO; Jesse (Kari) Stroot of O’Fallon, IL; Delray (Ann) Dorsey of Waymouth, MA; Mary Dorsey of Bluffton, IN; and Larry (Jessica) Dorsey of Quincy; great nieces and great nephews: Ora, Isaac, Delray Thomas, Austin Andrews, Ashley Dorsey, Cody Dorsey, Kayla and Savannah; and a great great nephew, Ryker Andrews.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Robert Brent Davis.

Memorial Services: A memorial service for both Richard and Brent will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home with Rev. Carol Stufflebeam officiating.

Inurnment: Greenmount Cemetery

Visitation: 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home

Memorials: Quincy Public School Foundation
