Marjorie Robinson, age 89, of Quincy, died on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 12:55 am in Sunset Home, surrounded by her family.

Marjorie Robinson | Hansen-Spear Funeral Home - Quincy, ILMarjorie was born December 25, 1928 in Texas County, Missouri, the daughter of Charles and Beulah Rice Mason. She married Raleigh Robinson on July 1, 1950 in Texas County, Missouri. He preceded her in death on September 27, 1996.

Marjorie was a 1944 graduate of Houston High School and attended secretary school. She was employed as a legal secretary in her husband’s law office. Marjorie was a member of Union United Methodist Church. She was devoted to her family and dearly loved her grandchildren. Marjorie also enjoyed reading and traveling.

Survivors include a daughter, Jeanne (Garry) Allen of Hannibal, MO; four grandchildren, Lindsay (Bryce) Gilbert of Quincy, Kelly Yates of Quincy, Brad Allen of Chicago, IL, and Lance Corporal Henry Allen, USMC, of California.

In addition to her husband, Marjorie was preceded in death by parents and a daughter, Carol Robinson.

Services: 7:00 pm on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home with Rev. Carol Stufflebeam officiating.

Burial: Sunset Cemetery, Quincy, Illinois

Visitation: 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home.

Memorials: Union United Methodist Church or the Haven at Sunset Home

  5. All of us family members from Rolla, Roby, and Success, Missouri have very fond memories of Marjorie. She was such a good, kind, soft spoken person. I remember Beulah and her having us over for supper where they fixed a delicious dinner and showed wonderful hospitality. They were genuinely terrific people, and so was Raleigh.
