Marguerite E. Tomamichel

Mrs. Marguerite E. Tomamichel of West Des Moines, Iowa, and formerly of Quincy, Illinois, passed away on Friday, May 12, 2017. She was born August 26, 1919, in Quincy, the daughter of Louis E. and Edna M. Waack Weiss. She married Ralph Tomamichel on May 18, 1946, in Quincy. He preceded her in death February 25, 1974.

From 1975 to 1982, she worked as a teller at Mercantile Bank and Trust. In Quincy, she had been a member of ST James Lutheran Church where she had taught Sunday School and was later a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. Mrs. Tomamichel moved to West Des Moines October 1991 where she was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Urbandale, Iowa.

Marguerite is survived by her son, James (Kathy) Tomamichel, of McMurray, Pennsylvania; two daughters: Sue (Rod) Kubat, of West Des Moines, Iowa; and Sally (Eric) Nielsen, of Spirit Lake, Iowa; ten grandchildren: Jill (Christopher) Odne, of Walnut Creek, California; Jessica (William) Ackerman, of Washington, Pennsylvania; Eric (Jessica) Kubat, of Atherton, California; Jenna Kubat (Ryan Johnson), of West Des Moines, Iowa; Kevin (Alison) Kubat, of Virginia, Minnesota; Katelyn (Joel) Money, of Minneapolis, Minnesota; Colby Kubat, of Minneapolis, Minnesota; Scott Nielsen, of Steamboat, Colorado; Abby Nielsen, of Queenstown, New Zealand; and Kristin (Jonathan) Garvey, of Madison, Wisconsin; and eight great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Robert Weiss, and her grandson, Jeffrey Kubat.

Services: 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Fieberkorn officiating.

Visitation: 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home.

Burial: Greenmount Cemetery, Quincy, Illinois
