It is with great sadness we announce the unexpected passing of Joyce “Lynne” Fox, age 75, of Quincy, IL, on Friday, October 5, 2018.

Lynne FoxLynne was born in Keokuk, IA to Walter and Mildred (Carter) Evans on February 4, 1943. On October 12, 1974, she married David “Kent” Fox in Keokuk, Iowa. He survives.

Lynne went to high school at Keokuk High School graduating in 1961. She went on to earn a degree in nursing from the Burlington School of Nursing and graduated in 1964. Lynne worked in the field of nursing for many years including Blessing Hospital, Nutri System, the American Red Cross, and Hannibal Regional Hospital and retired from the Mount Sterling Correctional Facility. She enjoyed playing the piano, tennis, and spending time with her family. Lynne particularly enjoyed traveling to watch all of her grandchildren’s activities.  She was a longtime organist at Faith Presbyterian Church in Quincy.

Lynne is survived by her husband Kent, their children Todd (Stephanie) Fox, Rhonda (John) Holt, and Kurt (Dawn) Fox, her sister Carole (Dr. John) Kirchner and grandchildren: Carter, Madison, Quinlan, Brecken, Ellison Kate, and Lukas.

She is preceded in death by her parents Walter and Mildred Evans and her brother, Robert Walter Evans.

Lynne was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother.

Services: 10:00 am on Thursday, October 11, 2018 at Faith Presbyterian Church with Lynne’s family officiating.

Visitation: 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home

Burial: 2:00 pm Thursday, October 11, 2018 Sand Cemetery, St. Francisville, Missouri

  3. So sorry for your loss. I wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed listening to Lynn play the organ at church. She was amazing when she played! That is something I will always remember. She was a sweet lady.

  5. I am so sorry to hear about Lynne’s passing. She was a terrific lady and I enjoyed visiting with her at Faith Circle. I unfortunately am in Arizona at this time so will be unable to attend the funeral service but I will keep you Kent and your family in my prayers. God Bless!!

  6. So sorry to learn of Lynn’s passing. We were classmates & I always enjoyed visiting with her at our class lunches. I have many fond memories of our growing up years. She will be much missed!!

  7. Neighbor, schoolmate and friend. I used to hitch rides with her and Carol to school quite often. She was a friend to my wife Harriet. She played a mean trumpet in the KHS Band. We will miss her a lot.

  8. I was blessed to be able to reconnect with Lynne in recent years through high school class members who kept us involved. Lynne was always a bright spot!!

  9. SO SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS. I WAS JUST WITH HER LAST TUES @ OUR CLASS LUNCH. SO GLAD WE GOT TO VISIT! SWEET CLASSMATE!

  10. It is with great sadness learning of Lynne’s passing! I have so many fond memories of working with Lynne at Dr. Hyde’s office. She was a very caring nurse to all the patients.

  11. I loved working with “Foxy”, as we called her at Western. She had such a fun personality, so much fun to work with. I’m so sorry for your loss, she was a sweetheart.

  14. Lynne was a good friend when we worked together in surgery at Keokuk and at the Red Cross.
