James A. Glasgow, age 78, of Quincy, died Sunday, December 3, 2017 at 1:00 a.m. in his home.

James Glasgow | Hansen-Spear Funeral Home - Quincy, ILJames was born on December 17, 1938 in Quincy, IL the son of Alvin and Ethel Buskirk Glasgow. On January 15, 1960 he married Sharron Lea Lair in Quincy, Illinois. She preceded him in death on April 28, 2008.

James worked for 32 years at Quincy Compressor where he manufactured and tested compressors. James loved spending time with family, especially with his grandchildren.

Survivors include, five children: James H. (Tina) Glasgow of Quincy; Michael D. (Angie) Glasgow of Quincy; Tracy L. Cookson of Mendon, IL; Michelle A.(Michael) Voth of Mendon, IL; and Melissa S. Glasgow of Mendon, IL; five grandchildren: Josh (Courtney Roberts) and Devon Glasgow; Dalton Voth; Nathan Glasgow; and Caleb Peuster; four step grandchildren, Mandy and Travis Chriscoe, Daniel and Aaron Dunford; two great grandchildren: Laynee Dunford and Alex Chriscoe; three sisters-in-law: Joyce Warning of Quincy; Stephanie Dillinger of Barry; and Carol Lair of Quincy; two brothers-in-law: Ronnie and Steve Dillinger, both of Quincy; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; a son-in-law, Bruce Cookson; and two brothers-in-law: Tom Dillinger and Carl Deverger.

Graveside Services: 11:00 on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 in Durham Cemetery, Durham, Missouri with Rev. Steve Disseler officiating. There will be no visitation.
