Donald Ray Pieper, age 91, of Quincy, died Friday, December 28, 2018 at 4:21 p.m. in Good Samaritan Home.
He was born April 14, 1927 in Quincy, the son of Adolph Fred and Ruth Fay Sloniger Pieper. On December 14, 1968 he married Mary E. Baker Logsdon in Quincy. She preceded him in death on February 23, 2015.
Donald attended Camp Point High School. He proudly served the U.S. Army for 4 years, stationed in Germany. Don worked at Gardner-Denver as an assembler for 41 years. He was also a member of Columbus Methodist Church and Seventh-Day Adventist Church.
Donald is survived by a son, Bruce A. Pieper of Mendon, IL; a daughter, Linda (Bill) Klodt of Fowler, IL; a step-son, William R. (Michelle) Logsdon of Quincy; a step-daughter, Sherri (Mark) Schmit of Cape Fair, MO; a brother, Art (Shirley) Pieper of Quincy; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren with one on the way; and several nieces & nephews.
In addition to his wife Donald was preceded in death by a wife, Gertrude K. Pieper, his parents, a son, Robert Pieper, two brothers, Ralph E. and Raymond D. Pieper, and a daughter-in-law Tamara Logsdon.
Graveside Services: 10:15 a.m. Monday, January 7, 2019 at Greenmount Cemetery with Pastor Tim Rosenboom officiating.
Inurnment: Greenmount Cemetery.
