Constance Ruth “Connie” Christie, age 87, of Quincy, died Friday, January 4, 2019, at 9:10 pm in St. Vincent’s Home.

Constance Christie | Hansen-Spear Funeral Home - Quincy, ILConnie was born August 30, 1931 in Quincy, Illinois, the daughter of Harold Sr. and Ruth Stals Meyer.

Connie was a 1949 graduate of Quincy High School. While in high school, Connie was a drum majorette, and her passion was marching band and marching in parades. Most of all, she loved spending time playing games and playing cards with her family. She especially loved celebrating birthdays and holidays with them.

Survivors include: her daughter, Diane (Larry) Herman of Quincy, IL; three grandchildren: Christie “Nicki” (Kyle) Stewart of Quincy; Damian “Dami” (Alyssa) Herman of Mesa, AZ; and Alexis “Lexi” (Nick) Schulte of Goose Creek, SC; and two great grandchildren, Ellie Grace and Haddie Ann Stewart.

Connie was preceded in death by her parents.

Services: a private graveside service will be held at Woodland Cemetery.

Burial: Woodland Cemetery, Quincy, Illinois

Memorials: Unity Point Hospice, Quincy Medical Group Foundation for Medical Oncology, or Lutheran Church of St. John Food Pantry
