Barbara A. Karlson formerly of Quincy, died Sunday May 27 at North Adams Home in Mendon, IL.

Barbara KarlsonBarbara was born July 16, 1952 in Quincy, Illinois, the daughter of Vernon L. and Juanita M. Conner Karlson.

Barbara was a 1970 graduate of Quincy High School. She worked at Davis Cleaver and had been both a security guard and a crossing guard in Quincy. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She loved to play Big Fish Games on her computer. Barbara was a member of the Tri States CB Club as well as the Quincy CB Club. She was known to be an avid lover of cats and horses.

Barbara is survived by a sister, Mary Bridgman of Quincy; a sister-in-law, Geraldine Karlson of Kinderhook, IL; 12 nieces and nephews; and 13 great nieces and nephews.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, David and George Karlson; two nephews; and a sister-in-law Ruth Karlson..

Services: A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, June 2 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 210 Cardinal Dr., Quincy.

Burial: Inurnment will be at a later date in Greenmount Cemetery

Visitation: There will be no visitation.

  2. I am very sorry to hear that Barb passed. Barb was always very welcoming to me and she loved seeing new pictures of Brayden and knowing what he was up to. I hope that she is at peace and I’m sure that her, David and George are telling jokes in heaven. Prayers and peace to you all.
