Mary L. Calhoun, age 89, of 918 Jefferson, died Sunday,
March 2, 2008 at 1:40 a.m. in Pittsfield Manor, Pittsfield, Illinois.![]() She was born August 26, 1918 in Springfield, Illinois the daughter of William J. and Irene S. Feld Entrekin Andrews. She was orphaned at an early age and raised by her Aunt and Uncle, Amanda and Walter Feld. She was a 1936 graduate of Quincy High School. She graduated from Blessing Hospital School of Nursing in 1939, and was employed by Blessing Hospital as an RN until her retirement in 1982. She was an active member of the Lutheran Church of St. John. Her hobbies included knitting and crocheting. She was an avid Cub fan. Survivors include five grandchildren, Tina Zuckerman and husband Stuart of Randolph, NJ, Amanda Kelley of St. Joseph, MO, Kim Marshall and finacé Roger Brown of Griggsville, IL, Vicki Marshall of Quincy, and Wendy McDonald and husband Blaise of Quincy, and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her aunt and uncle, Amanda and Walter Feld, two daughters, Karen L. Russo and Diane L. Steinkamp; two brothers, Robert and Charles Entrekin, and a sister Pearl Gregory. Services: 10 a.m. Thursday at the Lutheran Church of St. John, with the Rev. Harold Bender officiating. Visitation: 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at Hansen-Spear. Memorials: Lutheran Church of St. John or Arthritis Foundation in her name would be appreciated.
