Catherine L. Bornman, age 86, of 101 N.
4th St. and formerly of 630 Jefferson, died Monday, March 24, 2008 at
3:10 p.m. in Blessing Hospital. She was born July 28, 1921 in Quincy, the daughter of August H. and Edith Miller Bornman. She graduated from Quincy High School in 1939. She then attended Gem City Business College and Beauty School. She was a life long member of Tritiny Church and had been a Sunday School Teacher. She worked for Chanen Auto Supply, Turner Brothers Garage, and Tri State Nutrition Center until she retired. Survivors include: 2 sisters, Virginia Strode and her husband Bob of Quincy; and Delores Clark and her husband Chester of Ewing, MO; a nephew, Robert Strode and his wife Pam of Hastings, MI; a grand-nephew, Randy Strode and his wife Kerri of Springfield, IL; a grand-niece, Robin Bartley and her husband Stuart of Wickliffe, OH; 3 great-grand-nephews, Ben & Nathaniel Bartley and Lucas Strode; and one great-grand-niece Rebecca Bartley. She was preceded in death by her parents, many friends and relatives. Services: 10:00 am Friday, March 28, 2008, at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home with the Rev. Timothy A. White officiating. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery. Visitation: 5-7 pm Thursday at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home.
