Orville "Mark" Clampitt, age 54, of
1011 N 36th, died Monday, June 16, 2008 at 8:56 a.m. in Blessing
Hospital.![]() He was born July 25, 1953 in Quincy, Illinois the son of Orville "Johnny" and Evelyn Carl Clampitt. He was a 1971 graduate of Quincy High School. Mark attended both Western Illinois University and Quincy College. He was the owner of Clampitt Tax Services in Quincy, and he was a member of the Independent Accountants Association of Illinois. Mark had a great interest in genealogy and English history. He was a member of Salem Evangelical United Church of Christ. Survivors include two sisters: Mary Yvonne Lander and her husband, Gary, of Washington, IL; and Sharol Minger and her husband, Mike, of Eureka, IL; three nephews: Michael Lane and his wife, Nancy, of Kennesaw, GA; Greg Minger and his wife, Tara, of Roscoe, IL; and Ted Minger of Tuscola, IL; three nieces: Shari Bennett and her husband, Keith, of Trevor, WI; Gara Lander of Chicago, IL; and Michelle Minger of Clarendon Hills, IL; a great-niece, Riley Lane of Kennesaw, GA; and three great-nephews: Zachary and Alex Bennett of Trevor, WI; and Branden Minger of Roscoe, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents and two great-nephews, Ryne and Alexander Minger. Services: Friday, June 20, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. at Salem Evangelical United Church of Christ with the Rev. Wanda Seydel officiating. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery. Visitation: Thursday, June 19 from 4-7 p.m. at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home.
