William A. Miller , age 88 of 648 Pawn Ave., died Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at 4:50 a.m. in Blessing Hospital.

He was born November 13, 1919 in Chicago, the son of Frank and Marie Lang Miller. On February 14, 1946 he married Tillie Delosky in Chicago. She survives.

William proudly served 4 years in the U.S. Army as a Master Seargent during WWII. After returning home he spent 30 years as an Internal Revenue Service Agent. He later worked as a tax consultant for a private law firm in Chicago. The Millers moved to Quincy in 1993. William was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, and American Legion Post 37. He was an avid gardener and greatly enjoyed woodworking.

Survivors in addition to his wife include: a daughter, Susan L. Dobbs and her husband Ted of Quincy; a sister-in-law, Melvina Brazys of Blair, NE: a brother-in-law, Bernard A. Delosky of Corvallis, OR; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers, Anthony and Edward Miller.

Services: Friday, July 18, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. in St. Anthony Catholic Church with Rev. Tom Hagstrom officiating.

Visitation: Thursday, 4-7 p.m. at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home with a Wake Service at 6:30 pm.

Burial: St. Boniface Cemetery.

Memorials: St. Dominic's School in his name would be appreciated.
