She was born January 16, 1935 in Quincy, Illinois, the daughter of Fred W. and Martha J. Dooley Menne. On April 29, 1958, she married Charles Griffith in Pittsfield, IL. He preceded her in death on November 26, 2006.

She was a 1952 graduate of Quincy High School and attended Quincy College. She was employed as a sales representative for Manpower Temporary Services and later by Avon Products, Inc.

Jeanne was a member of the League of Women Voters, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and the Tri-State Civil War Roundtable. She was a mentor at Irving School and a volunteer at the Gardner Museum of Architecture and Design.

Survivors include her daughter, Mary Kathleen Griffith, Quincy; her son, Charles Dooley Griffith, Dallas, TX; 1 sister, Dr. Sheila K. Laws and her husband Donald, Quincy, and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Donald F. Menne in WWII, and three sisters, Coaina Shaw, Patricia Langen and Abby Heinecke.

Services: 11:00 am Friday, July 11th at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Quincy, Illinois.

Visitation: 4-7pm Thursday, July 10th at Hansen-Spear

Memorials: Two Rivers Council of Girl Scouts, Civil War Preservation Trust or Quincy University.
