Dolores Ann Davis, age 75, of 2420 Chatten, Quincy, died
Tuesday, July 22, 2008 at 1:27 a.m. in Blessing Hospital. She was born
January 23, 1933 in Quincy, Illinois, the d On March 20, 1954, she married Richard E. Davis in Union Methodist Church at 8th and Kentucky, in Quincy. They were happily married for 54 years. He survives. She graduated from Quincy High School in 1951. She was a waitress for 18 years at S.S. Kresge and also worked in retail at Deter's Dairy for 18 years. She enjoyed cooking holiday dinners for her family at Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them. She also enjoyed the numerous trips they took to Kansas City to visit her family. Dolores was also a cat lover and liked to feed and find home for the neighborhood strays. She also liked gardening. Survivors in addition to her husband include three children, Deborah Walkenshaw and husband David, Adrian, MO, Robert Brent Davis and wife Sandy, Quincy, Richard E. Davis, Jr., Kansas City, KS; five grandchildren, Larry Dorsey and wife Jessica, Quincy, Mary Weldt and husband Tom, Bluffton, IN, Delray Dorsey and fiancee Ann, Weymouth, MA, Melanie Pritchett and husband Ike, Peculiar, MO, and Jesse Stroot and wife Teresa, Whitman Air Force Base, MO; 8 great-grandchildren, Isaac and Ora Pritchett, Ashley, Kayla and Savannah Weldt, and Delray Jr., Austin and Cody Dorsey; two sisters-in-law, Karen Kalaber, and Phyllis Feld and a brother-in-law, Bill Feld, all of Quincy, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Charles and his wife Erma, and a great-granddaughter Madison Weldt. Services: 11 a.m. Friday at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home, with the Rev. Bob Morwell officiating. Burial will be in Quincy Memorial Park. Visitation: 9-11 a.m. Friday at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home.
