She was born September 7, 1923 in Keokuk, Iowa the daughter of Paul and Zella O'Haver Hanerhoff.

On February 21, 1943 she married Wayne A. Beeson in the Hamilton Funeral Home, the home of her parents. They were happily married for more than 62 years. He preceded her in death on July 6, 2005.

In 1949 Marlys and Wayne moved to Quincy where they raised their three children, Michael of Quincy, William of Virginia City, NV and Daniel who is deceased.

She attended McMurray College in Jacksonville, IL and was employed as a teacher's aide. She also worked for Hey Brothers Dairy (for lifelong friend Gene Harshman), but mostly as a homemaker raising "My Three Sons".

Marlys is also survived by her grandson Christopher Beeson, Tucson, AZ, her sister, JoAnne Yoder, Keokuk, IA, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her grandddaughter DeAnne Stille and her parents.

Services: Wednesday, August 6, 2008, at 2:00 pm in Faith Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Kevin McGinnis officiating. Private inurnment will be in Greenmount Cemetery.
