William H. Lepper, age 90, of
1514 Midlan Dr., died Wednesday, January 16, 2008 at 7:10 a.m.
in Good Samaritan Home.
He was born March 18, 1917 in
Quincy, Illinois the son of William and Hilda Bornmann Lepper.
On September 16, 1945 he married Jean B. Becker in the parsonage
of St. James Church. She preceded him in death on April 1, 1999.
He was a 1935 graduate of
Quincy High School. He served in the U.S. Army as a Staff Sgt.
in the Pacific Theatre during WWII from 1941 to 1945. His unit
received the Presidential Unit Citation and he received a Purple
Heart. Mr. Lepper was an electrician and operated Lepper
Electric. He was a member of the Lutheran Church of St. John and
a lifetime member of the American Legion, V.F.W., and D.A.V.
Survivors include two
daughters: Gale L. Nowak and her husband, Ron, of Quincy;
Corrine A. Freier and her husband, Merritt, of Quincy; 5
grandchildren: Mark and Kathy Nowak, and Hannah, Emily and Abby
Freier; and a brother, R. Robert Lepper of Quincy. In addition
to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral Services: 11:00 a.m.
Monday in Hansen-Spear Funeral Home with the Rev. Harold Bender
officiating. Burial will be in Quincy Memorial Park.
Visitation: 4 - 6 p.m. Sunday in the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home.
Memorials: Lutheran Church of St. John Building Fund or Quincy
Humane Society in his name would be appreciated.
