Esther Fuller, age 99, of 29200 Jones Loop Rd. #163,
Punta Gorda, Florida, formerly of 1108 N. 20th, Quincy, died Thursday,
November 15, 2007 at 5:47 p.m. in the Middle Tennessee Medical Center in
Murfreesboro, TN.
She was born May 20, 1908 in West Point, Illinois the daughter of John
William Major and Alice Mae Hudleson Hull. On July 17, 1926 she married
Theodore Emmett Fuller in Quincy, IL. He preceded her in death on
February 12, 1985.
Esther worked as a packer for salemen's samples at Moormans
Manufacturing Company for 23 years. She was a founding member of Grace
Methodist Church. She was a 50 year member of the Order of the Eastern
Star and a member of the Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem, Miriam
Shrine No. 3.
Survivors include, two daughters, Carol A. Evans and her husband Calvin
of Punta Gorda, FL; and Myrna Virgene Whan and her husband, Trilby, of
Hamilton, IL; five grandchildren: Christina E. Kindle of Murfreesboro,
TN; Cynthia C. Cruea and her husband, Darrell, of Cottage Grove, MN;
Catherine M. Brummett and her husband, Tennison, of Edmonds, WA; Merl J.
Whan and his wife, Kelly, of Camp Point, IL; and Ted L. Whan of Quincy;
six great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; a sister,
Eleanor Junk of West Point, IL; and a brother, Kenneth Hull.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by an infant son,
William Jean Fuller; a grandson, Timothy M. Whan; her parents; three
sisters, Martha Ramsey, Adeline Bettisworth, and Ruby Vestre; and two
brothers, William Hull and Gerald Hull.
Services will be Friday, November 30, 2007, at 10:00 a.m. in
Hansen-Spear Funeral Home with the Rev. Oliver Taube officiating.
Visitation will be Thursday, November 29, 4-7 p.m.. Burial will be in
West Point Cemetery, West Point, IL. Memorials made to the American
Heart Association in her name would be appreciated. Hansen-Spear Funeral
Directors are in charge of arrangements.
