Howard David "Zeke" Mohr I, age 77, of 4817
Sunview Drive, died Tuesday, January 9, 2007 at 1:11 p.m. at Blessing Hospital.
He was born April 23, 1929 in Springfield, Illinois the son of Frank D. and Lilly L.
Crook Mohr. He married Janis R. Headrick June 23, 1948 in Springfield, IL. On August 29,
1992 he married Margaret "Maggie" Stoermer in Eureka Springs, Arkansas.
He was a 1948 graduate of Springfield Griffen High School, and was a claims adjustor
for Country Companies for 35 years until he retired.
He was a charter member of Springfield Ski and Boat Club, and past president of the
Board of Directors of Cloud 9 Ranch Club, Caulfield, MO. He was an avid hunter, boater and
loved fishing and camping.
Survivors include his wife; 3 children: Rebecca R. Mohr of Quincy; Gary M. Mohr and
his wife, Leslye, of Monroe City, MO; and Suzanne C. Worthington and her husband, Ryan, of
Perryville, MO; a daughter-in-law, Renita Mohr of Quincy; 14 grandchildren; 10 great
grandchildren; 2 brothers: Donald E. Mohr and his wife, Shirley; and Michael L. Mohr, all
of Springfield, IL; 2 sisters: Shirley A. Lovell of Miami, FL; and Mary Lou Guernsey and
her husband, Ken, of Springfield, IL; his father and mother-in-law, Lawrence and Mary
Stoermer of Quincy; two sisters-in-law: Sally Kroner and her husband, Mike; and Melinda
Burton and her husband, Archie, all of Quincy; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews;
and his beloved pet, Muffin. He was preceded in death by his son, H. David Mohr, II and
his parents.
Services will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. Hansen-Spear Funeral Home with Father
Tom Donovan officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday from 4-9 p.m.
with a wake service at 8:30 p.m. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery. Memorials made to
American Cancer Society in his name would be appreciated.
