William E. Marks , age 82 of 2618 NW 32nd St., Boca Raton, FL, died Tuesday, January 2, 2007 at 1:55 p.m. in Blessing Hospital.He was born February 14, 1924 in Stamford, Connecticut, the son of George Edwin Marks and Gertrude Pierce Marks. On September 19, 1953 he married Jeanne Shively in Lakewood, Ohio. She survives.He served in the Army during WWII in both Africa and Italy. He worked in sales and was a Product Manager in the corrugated box industry. He was a member of the Episcopal Church.Survivors in addition to his wife include: 2 daughters, Penny Marks of Quincy; and Amy Cecil and her husband Dan of Boca Raton, FL; a son, Griffith Marks and his fiance' Marie of Darien, IL; 6 grandchildren, Aubrey, Jeremiah and Jordan Marks; and Christopher, Colby and Connor Cecil; a sister, Sandra Starr and her husband Philip of Whispering Pines, NC; and a nephew Gregory Starr. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Jack Marks.Services will be Saturday, January 6, 2007, at 1:00 p.m. in Hansen Spear Funeral Home with the Rev. Lewis Payne, SSC, officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from noon until 1 p.m. at the Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Boca Raton, FL. Memorials made to The American Cancer Society in his name would be greatly appreciated. |
