Doris F. Flower, age 74, of 611 Country Club Dr. #213,
died Monday, December 31, 2007 at 5:30 p.m. in Blessing Hospital.
She was born May 3, 1933 in Plainville, Illinois the daughter of Emmett
E. and Mae Irene Linthicum Weisinger. In 1952 she married Edwin
Holzgrafe in Palmyra, MO. In 1980 she married Rollin Flower in Limon,
CO. He preceded her in death on July 31, 1988.
She was a 1952 graduate of Camp Point High School. During the 1960's
Doris worked as an LPN at St. Mary's Hospital. She also spent nine years
working as an LPN at the Prairie View Care Center in Limon, CO. Around
15 years ago she returned to Quincy. Doris liked spending time shopping
at thrift and second hand stores. She was a varacious reader and enjoyed
watching her favorite television show, "The Sopranos".
Survivors include, a son, Edwin R. Holzgrafe and his companion, Kathy
Resendiz, of Quincy; two daughters: Debra A. Bowers and her companion,
Frank Guthrie, of Quincy; and Julie Holzgrafe-Clark and her husband,
Paul, of Prescott, AZ; two sisters: Margie McGlaughlin of Elkhart, IN;
and Donna Wiesinger of Chicago, IL; seven grandchildren: Charles Bowers
and his wife, Elizabeth, of Port Orchard, WA; Shana Decker and her
husband, Monty, of Maywood, MO; Eddie Holzgrafe of Quincy; Kristine
Holzgrafe of Tucson, AZ; Jericho Richardson and her husband, Alex, of
Phoenix, AZ; Adrian Leyva and his wife, Amy, of Phoenix, AZ; and Scott
Malcomson, who is currently serving in the United States Navy; 12
great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Louise Vermeire and her
husband, Don, of Quincy.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents
and a brother, Robert Weisinger,
Services will be Monday, January 7, 2008, at 10:00 a.m. in Hansen
Spear Funeral Home with the Rev. Randy Pate officiating. Visitation will
be Monday, January 7, from 8 - 10 am. Burial will be in Stewart Cemetery
near Plainville, IL. Memorials made to Meals on Wheels in her name would
be appreciated. Hansen-Spear Funeral Directors are in charge of
arrangements.
