Elaine B. Dreasler, age 85
of Sunset Home, formerly of 3207 Crestview, died Tuesday,
December 11, 2007 at 3:25 a.m. in Sunset Home.
She was born August 31, 1922 in Quincy, Illinois the
daughter of Charles O. and Anna VanMeter Smith. On March 23,
1944 she married John H. Dreasler in Quincy. He preceded her
in death on September 10, 1993.
She was a 1940 graduate of Quincy High School and went on
to work as a secretary at Gardner Denver, Buzza Cardoza
Greeting Cards and Timm Aircraft. She became a homemaker
after the birth of their children. Elaine enjoyed the Quincy
Community Theater, community concerts, especially the Park
Band, Blue Devil Basketball, travel and adventure. She was
very proud of her grandchildren and was very interested in
their activities, attending as many of their events as
possible. She was on the Sunset Home Resident Advisory Board
and a member of Luther Memorial Church.
Survivors include: 2 sons, Tom Dreasler and his wife
Cathy of Keokuk, IA, and Brady Dreasler and his wife Cheryl
of Quincy; a daughter, Marsha Mulherin of Wildwood, MO; 5
grandchildren, Jonathan, Jennifer, and Kristin Dreasler, all
of Quincy; Meghan Mulherin of Atlanta, GA; and Kimberly
Mulherin of Wildwood, MO; 2 step-grandchildren, Melanie
Mason and her husband Shane of St. Charles, IL; and Zach
Wingerter of Macomb, IL; nephews Johnny Pieper and wife Rita
of Three Lakes, WI, and Mark Smith of Quincy, and a niece
Michelle Becks and her husband Tom of Quincy. In addition to
her husband she was preceded in death by her parents, a
brother Malcolm Smith and a sister Maxine Pieper.
Services will be Saturday, December 15, 2007, at 10:30
a.m. in Hansen Spear Funeral Home with the Rev. Leland Uden
officiating. Visitation will be Friday, December 14, 4 - 7
p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenmount
Cemetery. Memorials made to Sunset Home, Luther Memorial
Church, or the American Lung Association in her name would
be greatly appreciated. |
