Harriett Marie "Toots" Saunders, 99, 720 Sycamore, formerly of 2627 Cherry died Sunday, April 15, 2007 at 1:20 pm in Sycamore Health Care Center.

She was born November 24, 1907 in Muscatine, Iowa, the daughter of Chris and Catherine Nevins Kallenberger. She married Fred Saunders, and he preceded her in death.

She worked as an industrial nurse for over 30 years at Electric Wheel. She was a member of St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church.

Surviving are a son-in-law, John "Bud" Conover, Orlando, FL; niece-in-law, Frances Tanner, Quincy; a step daughter, Carlene "Corky" Schutte and her husband Pete, Quincy; 3 grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 4 brothers Paul, Ed, Fred and Harry, a daughter Jo Cathern, a sister Mrs. Walter (Nell) Tanner and 2 nephews Richard and Nick Tanner.

Services will be held Wednesday, April 18, 2007 at 10 a.m. in the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Shaughnessy, O.F.M. officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church.
