Norma Jean Peters, age 71 of 1836
Vermont, died Tuesday, April 24, 2007 at 11:15 a.m. in Blessing Hospital.
She was born January 21, 1936 in Quincy, Illinois the
daughter of William David and Theresa Crose Webb. On July 23, 1955 she married James B.
Peters in Quincy. He survives.
She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church and a
former member of St. Boniface Catholic Church. She had worked as a cook at Senior High
School and in the dietary department of Blessing Hospital for over 20 years. Norma loved
reading, her rose garden and playing the slot machines. She was an avid Cubs fan and liked
watching movies with her grandchildren.
Survivors also include, 3 daughters Cindy Winston and
her husband Jim of Quincy, Peggy Stark and her husband Rick of Quincy, Laurie Steinkamp
and her husband Wayne of Payson, 3 sons Daniel J. Peters of Quincy, Thomas A. Peters and
his wife Shelly Kramer Peters of Petersburg, IL, Steven J. "Pete" Peters of
Quincy, 14 grandchildren Alyssa Lester and her husband Matt of Alexandria,, VA, Ashley and
Andrea Winston of Columbia, MO, Jennifer Norfolk and her husband Jason of Quincy, Adam
Stark of Quincy, Nick Stark with the U.S. Navy, Norfolk, VA, Amber and Ryan Steinkamp of
Payson, Suzanne Peters of Quincy, Cameren Peters with the U.S. Navy in Norfolk, VA,
Jessica Peters of Quincy, Erica, Jacob and Conner Peters of Petersburg, a
great-granddaughter, Kalli Norfolk of Quincy, and a sister Patricia Casteel of Texas. She
was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Kenneth Webb.
Services willl begin Friday at 10:30 a.m.with prayers
at the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home followed by a funeral mass at 11 a.m. in St. John
Catholic Church of Blessed Sacrament Parish with the Rev. John Carberry officiating.
Visitation will be Thursday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home followed by a wake
service and rosary. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Memorials made to Blessing
Hospital Home Care. in her name would be appreciated.
