Marietta Marie Weinand , age 87 of
1513 No. 13th St., died Monday, September 18, 2006 at 1:45 p. m. in Blessing Hospital.
She was born March 12, 1919 in Ewing, Missouri the daughter of
Fordyce and Uma Davis. On September 17, 1938 she married Walter Joseph Weinand in Quincy.
He preceded her in death on June 1, 1993.
Mrs. Weinand attended Quincy High School. She had worked at
Pfeiffer's Market as a clerk and worked for Christie's Drapery Shop as a drapery
seamstress. She was a member of Salem Evangelical United Church of Christ, a member of the
Eagles Auxiliary where she was a past president, a member of the American Legion Auxiliary
and the Moose Auxiliary. Mrs. Weinand had worked as a volunteer on many charitable drives.
Survivors include a son, Ronald J. Weinand and his wife Margaret
of Quincy; a granddaughter, Laura Weinand of Camp Point, IL; a grandson, Ronald
Christopher "Chris" Weinand and his wife Carrie of Quincy; a great-grandson,
Mason Weinand of Camp Point and numerous nieces and nephews
Services will be Thursday morning at 10:30 a.m. in the
Hansen-Spear Funeral Home with the Rev. Ken Leischner officiating. Visitation will be
Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sunset Cemetery.
Memorials made to Quincy Humane Society or Salem Evangelical United Church of Christ. in
her name would be appreciated.
