Margaret L. Danhaus, age 92, of the
Good Samaritan Home, died Saturday, September 30, 2006 at 5:29 a.m.
She was born October 12, 1913 at home in Pike County, Illinois
the daughter of Roman and Virginia Adkins Stolte. On June 10, 1937 she married Albert
Herman Danhaus in Salem Church in Quincy. He preceded her in death October 21, 1981.
She was a graduate of Hull High School and was a member of Salem
Evangelical United Church of Christ where she was a member of the Women's Guild. Margaret
was a very loving wife, mother and grandmother. She had a joyful, loving spirit with a
delightful sense of humor.
Survivors also include 2 daughters, Jeane Zeman and her husband
Paul, St. Louis, MO; Barbara House and her husband Grant, Las Vegas, NV; 5 grandchildren,
Ryan Zeman, Chicago, IL; Brent Zeman, St. Louis, MO; Henry House and his wife Beth,
Seattle WA; Nathaniel House and Elle House, both of Las Vegas, NV; brother-in-law, Melvin
Danhaus and his wife Juanita, Quincy; sister-in-law, Marilyn Burgdorff and her husband
Glenn, Camp Point, IL. She was also preceded in death by her son, Albert Stephen Danhaus;
her parents; two brothers, Willis and Russell Stolte, and a sister, Gladys Speckhart.
Services will be Monday, October 2, 2006, at 11:00 am in Salem
Evangelical United Church of Christ with Rev. Wanda Seydel and Chaplain Steve Disseler
officiating. Visitation will be Monday, October 2 from 9:30 am - 11:00 am at Salem Church.
Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery. Memorials made to Salem Evangelical United Church
of Christ or Good Samaritan Home in her name would be appreciated.
