Rev. Dale P. Kronquist, age 73, of
915 No. 50th, Quincy died Friday, October 27, 2006 at 11:35 p.m. in Blessing Hospital.
He was born February 20, 1933 in Blue Island, Illinois the son
of Thomas and Hazel Rady Kronquist. On August 11, 1957 he married Shirley Poling in Estes
Park, CO. She survives.
Rev. Kronquist received his B.A. degree in Sociology from
Wartburg College and his Master of Divinity from Wartburg Seminary. During the Korean
Conflict he served as a Sargeant in the Army. He served as a Lutheran minister in various
congregations. Most recently he was at Christ Lutheran Church in Englewood, Florida where
he served for 15 years and retired in 1999. He was a member of Luther Memorial Church and
was an avid golfer.
Survivors also include a daughter, Kim Dickhut and her husband
Randy of Quincy; a son, Kevin Kronquist and his wife Veronica of Mexico, MO; 5
grandchildren Claire Dickhut of Washington, D.C., Samuel and Kathryn Dickhut of Quincy;
Zachary and Ethan Kronquist of Mexico; a brother, Thomas Kronquist and his wife Joy of
Homer, GA; a sister, Janalee Hajek and her husband Harold of Naperville, IL; and several
nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Bonnie Wierzinski
Memorial services will be held Friday, November 24. 2006, at 4
p.m. in Luther Memorial Church with the Rev. Leland Uden officiating. Memorials made to
Luther Memorial Church or Christ Lutheran Church in Quincy in his name would be
appreciated.
