David R. Hummer, age 59, of 826
Christopher Ct., Quincy died Thursday, October 12, 2006 at 2:44 pm in Blessing Hospital.
He was born October 1, 1947 in Ottawa, IL the son of Argend Dean
and Shirley Ann Eickelberry Hummer. On April 17, 1977 he married Barbara Hall in Bailey
Park, Camp Point, IL .
He was a graduate of Camp Point Central High School in 1965 and
worked on the loading docks at Gardner-Denver. David was employed by Sharkey
Transportation for over 20 years as a truck driver. He was a former member of Payson Road
Christian Church. He was an avid Cardinal fan, a devoted family man and he enjoyed his
grandchildren's events.
Survivors also include his 3 children, Chadd Hummer of Quincy,
IL; Casey Hummer and wife Ashley of Chapin, IL; Deana Lambkin and husband Anthony of
Quincy, IL; 4 grandchildren, Kierstin, Christopher, Sage and Kaitlynn and a fifth
grandchild due in February; 2 brothers, Danny Hummer and Kay of Peoria, IL; Donnie Hummer
and his wife Nancy of Camp Point, IL, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in
death by his parents.
Services will be Monday, October 16, 2006, at 2:00 pm in
Hansen-Spear Funeral Home with Rev. Thomas R. Kamprath officiating. Visitation will be
Sunday, October 15 from 2pm - 4pm at the funeral home. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorials made to the Mustard Seed Project in care of the First
Presbyterian Church in his name would be appreciated.
