John Marshall Logue of Country Aire Retirment Estatee, Lewistown, Missouri, formerly of 2824 Elm, Quincy, passed away Monday, November 13, 2006 at 4:55 p.m.

He was born on January 9, 1924 in Galesburg, Illinois as an only child of John and Anna Smith Logue. On January 7, 1943 he married Naomi E. McDowell in Palmyra, Missouri, She survives.

He was a graduate of Abingdon High School and also a graduate of Gem City Business College. He was a member of the Durham Baptist Church in Durham, Missouri. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII in the South Pacific, as a tailgunner. He was a member of the V.F.W. He was an avid Cubs fan as well as a Blue Devil basketball fan.

Mr. Logue worked for 25 years as a printer at Moorman Manufacturing Company from 1942 until 1967. He then farmed for many years in Lewis County and later owned and operated Logue Printing in Hannibal, Missouri until retiring December of 1997.

In addition to his wife, survivors include a daughter, Patty Gillespie and her husband, Kenny of Lewistown, MO; four sons: Bill Logue of Houston, TX; Larry Logue and his wife, Elke of Hannibal, MO; David Logue and his wife, Marina of Mexico, MO; and Phillip Logue and his wife, Cymbre of Galveston, TX; 11 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents

Services will be Thursday, November 16, 2006 at 10 a.m. in Hansen-Spear Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Romans officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home. Burial will be in Sunset Cemetery at the Illinois Veterans' Home. Memorials made to Durham Baptist Church in his name would be appreciated.
