Evelyn M. Davis, age 82, formerly of 611 Country Club Heights went home to be with the Lord Thursday Nov. 23, 2006 at 3:50 am in Sunset Home.She was born March 31, 1924 in Union Township, Fulton County, Illinois, the daughter of Arthur M. and Lora Beghtol Miller. She was a 1942 graduate of Galesburg High School and was a 1946 graduate of the Cadet Nurse Program at Cottage Hospital in Galesburg.In 1955, Mrs. Davis moved to Quincy from Beardstown, Illinois, and worked for many years at Blessing Hospital as a pediatric nurse. She attended Calvary Baptist Church where she was active in the Ladies Missionary Fellowship.Survivors include a daughter, Joy Shults and her husband Phil, Quincy; a son, Jeff Davis and his wife Pat, Davison, MI; a brother, Carl Miller, Cameron, IL; 4 grandchildren, Allen Davis and his wife Annette, Waterford, MI; Jennifer Kigar and her husband Bill, Woodville, OH; Christy Wavering and her husband Jay, Chatham, IL; Joseph Shults and his wife Gretchen, Columbia, MO; 3 great grandchildren, Joseph, Jonathan and Olivia Kigar, all of Woodville, OH. She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 sisters and 2 brothers.Services will be held Monday, November 27, 2006 at 11:00 am in Hansen-Spear Funeral Home with the Rev. Mickey Farlow officiating. Visitation will be Sunday evening from 4-7 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church Missions or the Haven at Sunset Home. |
