E. Jean Terry, age 83 of 120 East
Street, Ursa, died Saturday, May 20, 2006 at 4:24 a.m in her home with her family.
She was born August 10, 1922 in Quincy, the daughter of Edward
L. and Elizabeth E. Baker Niekamp. On October 14. 1944 she married Robert C. Terry in
Ursa, who survives in her home.
She was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church and its Ladies
Aid. She volunteered in the Blessing Hospital Tea Room. During World II, Mrs. Terry worked
as a cartographer for the Army Map Service..
Survivors include a son, Kent Robert Terry and his wife Ann of
Marseilles, IL; a daughter, Karen Daugherty and her husband James of Crete, IL; 4
grandchildren Michael Terry of Marseilles, IL, Sara Terry of Marseilles, IL, Eric
Daugherty and his wife Karen of Darien, IL; Becky Daugherty of Boulder, CO; a
great-grandchild, Colin Daugherty of Darien, IL; 2 sisters Irma Anderson and her husband
Alan of Racine, WI; Christine Fisher of Paloma, IL; and numerous nieces and nephews. She
was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Edward "Bud" Niekamp and a
brother-in-law George Fisher..
Services will be Tuesday, May 23, 2006, at 11:30 a.m. in Our
Redeemer Lutheran Church with the Rev. Larry Troxel officiating. Burial will be in
Greenmount Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, May 22, 2006, 4 to 7 p.m. at the
Hansen-Spear Funeral Home. Memorials given to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church or Blessing
Foundation for Hospice in Jean Terry's name will be greatly appreciated.
