William E. "Bill"
Speckhart, 70, of rural Payson died Monday May 15th at Blessing Hospital at 11:35 a.m.
He was born October 18, 1935 in Quincy. He was the son of Edwin
William and Marian June Miller Speckhart. He married Betty Jean Junk on April 12, 1958.
She survives.
Mr. Speckhart wa a lifetime farmer in the Fall Creek area. He
was a member of Bluff Hall UCC Church and attended school in Payson. He served on the
Payson School Board, Adams County Farm Bureau Board of Directors, and Bluff Hall Cemetery
Boad.
He thoroughly enjoyed attending his grandchildren's activities
and was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and area sports.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Brent
Speckhart and his wife, Barb, of rural Quincy; two daughters, Diana Felten and her
husband, John, of Fowler, and Darla Schneider and her husband, Dennis, of Auburn, WA; five
grandchildren Brittany, Daulton, and Dustin Speckhart and Madison and Derek Schneider, and
one brother Robert Speckhart and his wife, Jeanette, of Quincy and their three sons. He
was preceded in death by his parents and twin daughters, Debra and Denise.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday morning at 10:00 am in
Bluff Hall United Church of Christ by Rev. Richard Welch. Burial will be in Bluff Hall
Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to7pm Thursday at the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Adams County Farm Bureau
Scholarship Fund, Bluff Hall Cemetery Association, or American Heart Association.
