Wilbur W. 'Wib' Degitz, age 88,
formerly of 2001 Monroe, died on Monday, May 15, 2006 at 9:35 p.m. at Good Samaritan Home.
He was born on March 31, 1918 in Quincy, the son of Walter Henry
and Esther Bowe Degitz. On February 11, 1943, he married Mary Ann Schell in St.
Boniface Catholic Church, Quincy. She preceded him in death on April 20, 1984.
Mr. Degitz was a graduate of Quincy High School. He was a
pattern maker at Central Pattern Co. from 1937 until his retirement in 1981. He was a
member of Pattern Makers of America who merged with International Association of Machinist
and Aerospace workers (I.A.M.). He was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Curch.
Survivors include a sister, Virginia Brown of Quincy; a niece,
Charlene Brown of Quincy; three nephews: Melvin Dale Brown of Moline, IL.; Randy Shaul of
Rockwall, TX; and Ricky Shaul of Quincy; and great nieces and nephews. In addition
to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law Melvin Brown.
Funeral Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, May 19, 2006 in the
Hansen-Spear Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Friday from Noon until 2 p.m.
in the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery. Memorial contributions
may be made to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church.
