Jay Green Humphrey, age 42,
Portsmouth, NH, formerly of Quincy, died Thursday, July 13, 2006 in the Lahey Clinic,
Burlington, MA.
He was born February 25, 1964 in Quincy a son of Michael C. and
J'Ann Green Humphrey.
He attended Lincoln Elementary School in Quincy, Seymour
Elementary and Seymour High School in Payson, IL, and was a 1982 Quincy High School
graduate. He received his Eagle Scout Award with Troop #8 presented by his grandfather,
Judson C. Green at the First Union Congregational Church in Quincy. He was on the JWCC
Dean's list in 1981.
Jay completed the Harris International High School Internship in
1981, and worked for Harris International from 1981 -1983 in Circuit and PC Design. He was
employed by Computer Practice from 1983 -1985 with operating systems, and at Computerland
in 1985 making custom software. Most recently he was Chief Information Officer of Meeting
Matrix International in Portsmouth, NH. He received the Bill Gates RAD Award in 2002 for
intuitive use of hardware. He was a member of First Union Congregational Church in Quincy.
Survivors include his parents of Quincy; his sister, Michelle A.
Borrowman and her husband Darren, Quincy; his brother, John Adam Humphrey, Nevada; his
grandmother, Mrs. Judson C. Green of Quincy; uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Judson C. Green
of Orlando, FL; cousins, Jamie Green and Julie Kaiser, her husband Joe, and their sons,
Jackson and Jacob Kaiser of Chicago, IL; and uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Patrick K.
Humphrey and their children, Erin and Ben Humphrey. He was preceded in death by his
grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Humphrey, and his grandfather, Judson C. Green, Sr.
Memorial services will be held Friday, August 18 at 5 pm at the
First Union Congregational Church, conducted by Rev. Henry Murray. Visitation will be at
the church from 3 pm until the time of services at 5. Memorials given in Jay's name to the
Community Foundation of the Quincy Area for a fund to be established in his memory which
will be related to music would be greatly appreciated.
