Etta F. "Teddy" Pribble,
age 85, of 2130 Harrison, Quincy, formerly of 935 No. 1903rd Lane, Quincy died Tuesday
morning, January 31, 2006 at 5:35 a.m. in Good Samaritan Home.
She was born August 24, 1920 in Grinnell, Iowa, the daughter of
John and Gladys Mitchell Fister. She married Ernest Masterson who died in 1949. On July 9,
1955 she married Carl W. Pribble in Aiken, MN. He preceded her in death on January 6,
1997.
She attended Leyden School in Grinnell. Mrs. Pribble was of the
Christian faith and a member of Am Vets #76 Auxiliary in Ursa where she loved being an
active participant. She had been employed by the International Shoe company for 22 years
as a piece worker and and later by Motorola, Inc. for 12 years as a Supervisor. She
enjoyed Western movies, reading, TV, walking and short trips.
Survivors include 2 grandsons James Nixon and his wife Donna of
LaGrange, MO, David Nixon and his wife Denise of Camp Point, IL, 6 great grandchildren, a
sister, Ann Sprigg of Redding, CA, 3 brothers Harvey Fister of Fremont, CA, Robert Fister
and his wife Jean of Waterloo, IA, Jack Seward and his wife Juanita of Wellman, IA.
several nieces and nephews and dear friend and special sister-in-law Sadie Pribble of
Quincy. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Eldon Fister, a daughter
Martha Nixon and son-in-law Larry Nixon and an infant brother. Etta (Ted) will be
remembered for the loving kindness she showed throughout her life to her family and
friends..
Services will be Friday at 1 p.m. in the Hansen-Spear Funeral
Home with Chaplain Steve Disseler officiating. Burial will be in Quincy Memorial Park.
Visitation will be Friday from 11a.m. to 1 p.m. Memorials may be made to Blessing Hospital
or Good Samaritan Home.
