Glenn E. Turner, age 90, of 1007
Klondike Road, Quincy, died Wednesday, April 26, 2006 at 5:50 pm in Sunset Home.
He was born October 4, 1915 in New Hartford, Illinois the son of
John A. and Margaret Hoskins Turner. On July 3, 1948 he married Betty Lee Arrowsmith in
Palmyra, Missouri. She survives.
He was employed by Brower Mfg. from 1940-1942, and then served
in the US Army during WWII with the 707th Signal Airwarning Company in the Aleutian
Islands. He was employed by Oper Radio after the service until 1948 when he started at
Moorman Mfg. where he worked in the Mintrate Department until his retirement in 1978. He
also operated his own TV and radio repair from his home. Glenn was an avid gardener.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Cheri Powers and her husband
Terry of Quincy; Brenda Sue Tipton and her husband Rodney of Quincy; 4 grandchildren, Tim
Powers, Lacey, Kacey and Kobey Tipton, all of Quincy, and numerous nieces and nephews. He
was preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter, Amber Renee Turner; a brother Paul
Turner, Sr., and sisters, Louise McCarthy, Viola Hayes and Georgia Turner.
Services will be Saturday, April 29, 2006, 1:00 pm in
Hansen-Spear Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Connour officiating. Visitation will be
Saturday, from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be in Quincy Memorial
Park. Memorials may be made to Quincy Humane Society or Faith Assembly of God Church
Youth.
